The 5 Best Motorcycle Routes in Phuket
Phuket isn't just about beaches — the island has some incredible riding roads that wind through lush hills, along dramatic coastlines, and past hidden viewpoints that most tourists never see.
## 1. Kamala to Patong Hill Road
This short but thrilling route takes you over the hill between Kamala and Patong. The road is well-maintained with sweeping curves and stunning views of the Andaman Sea. Best ridden early morning when traffic is light.
## 2. Big Buddha Viewpoint Loop
Ride up to the Big Buddha statue for panoramic views of the southern part of Phuket. The road climbs steadily through rubber plantations before opening up to spectacular vistas. Combine with a stop at Chalong Temple on the way down.
## 3. West Coast Beach Run
Start at Nai Harn in the south and ride north along the coast through Kata, Karon, Patong, Kamala, Surin, and up to Bang Tao. Each beach has its own character, and the connecting roads offer beautiful scenery.
## 4. Sarasin Bridge & Mai Khao
Head north to Phuket's longest beach and the Sarasin Bridge connecting the island to the mainland. The road is flat and fast, with mangrove forests and salt farms along the way. Great for a relaxed morning ride.
## 5. Cape Promthep Sunset Ride
Time this ride for late afternoon. Head south to Cape Promthep — Phuket's southernmost point — and watch the sunset from the viewpoint. The ride back through Rawai under the stars is magical.
